FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do I get started?

Send me a short message via the contact page with a bit about your goals and availability. I'll reply within 24 hours and we'll set up a first session. That's the best way to see if we're a good fit before you commit.

What does a first session look like?

The first time we meet we sit down for an intake: your goals, your history, any injuries or pain, your schedule. From there we plan when our first training session will be. Real training starts the next time we meet, and the picture builds as we go.

How much does a session cost?

Rates depend on the package you choose (single sessions, bundles, or duo training). Ask me directly and I'll send you my current rate card.

How do payments work?

I work with bundles paid in advance. You buy a set number of sessions upfront, and we use them as we go. I send a simple invoice with bank transfer details. No subscriptions, no automatic renewals.

How long is a session?

Each session takes up to an hour.

How often should I train?

Twice a week is the sweet spot for most people. Once a week works if we pair it with a clear plan for what you do on your own. Three times a week makes sense if you have a specific goal or timeline.

How do you track progress?

We pick a few things that actually matter to you: a strength benchmark, a movement that has been bothering you, how you feel through the week. Not every session needs measuring, but every few weeks we step back and ask: is this working, and where do we adjust? No vanity metrics, no scoreboard.

Do I need a gym membership?

No, you don't need your own gym membership. Access is handled on my end when you train with me.

What should I wear and bring?

Comfortable training clothes, indoor sports shoes (clean soles, please), and a water bottle. That's it. Towels are provided by the gym, and showers are available on-site.

Can I train with a friend or partner?

Yes, duo training is available. You split the cost, and both of you get a program tailored to your own goals.

I'm coming back from an injury. Can you help?

Yes. My background as a Mensendieck exercise therapist means I'm comfortable working with injury recovery and chronic pain, bridging rehab into real training so you come back stronger, not just patched up.

Do you train beginners, or only experienced lifters?

Both. Roughly half my clients are first-time lifters or people who haven't trained in years. The other half are experienced. The work just looks different, not harder or easier.

What languages do you coach in?

Dutch and English. Sessions are run in whichever you prefer, and switching mid-session is fine.

What's your cancellation policy?

24 hours' notice for cancellations. Short-notice cancels may still be charged, and I'll walk you through the exact terms before we start.

Where are you located and how do I get there?

The gym is on Cornelis Schuytstraat in Amsterdam Zuid. Five minutes walking from Museumplein, the Beethovenstraat tram stop, and Vondelpark. Bike parking on the street; paid car parking in the surrounding blocks.
